Considering we have an official YouTube thread on this site, I wouldn't boycott it. Waste of time.
Anyways, it's worse when you are the owner of the video because you get PMs in your inbox about people commenting on your video and when you read them, it's just people arguing.
In every video I watch with a decent number of views there's a political debate going on in the comments section. No matter the content of the video. Seriously annoying, but Youtube is just to useful to ignore.

I just watch the videos.
on blackberry i just watch it, they dont even show the comments.
i also watch it on wii, again no comments unless you ask it.
the internet is full of opinions, avoid em if they bug you.

Not too mention that there are a ton of options when it comes to comments. Just click the options link right next to the "Text Comments" area and it gives you some.
I think youtube brings out the worst in people. I mean the average comment is 90% idiocy. but I revel in darkness so i likez.
Youtube comments are utterly hilarious. OP takes things too seriously.
