In Japan, DQX will win. Worldwide, FFXIII will win. This is how it has always gone between these two series, and I see no reason to believe that this will change.

Though if FFXIII hadn't gone multiplat, it would have been much closer this time than usual.

What do I hate about modern gaming? I hate tedium replacing challenge, complexity replacing depth, and domination replacing entertainment. I hate the outsourcing of mechanics to physics textbooks, art direction to photocopiers, and story to cheap Hollywood screenwriters. I hate the confusion of obsession with dedication, style with substance, new with gimmicky, old with obsolete, new with evolutionary, and old with time-tested.

It should outsell DQX, but it certainly will not outsell Final Fantasy XIII. Final Fantasy will be the highest selling JRPG this generation. FFXIV is a MMO and Versus is an exclusive. Both equal lower sales.

Best selling JRPG that isn't pokemon. I say DQIX has a chance though. But it is unlikely.
