@Rol

You do know they are calling for the entire gaming industry to raise prices? (Ironicly they threathend sony on the ps3's high price point)

The markets will decide, it's essentially about higher revenues - if the higher price will compensate for the lower sales (which would be better, as lower costs in comparison to overall revenue) then the industry will raise the prices.

Honestly, I think they could get away with another £5-£10 on all games (depending on brand recognition / marketing, etc) and still maintain high enough sales.

I know it sucks when we as gamers are threatened to pay more. But in all honesty, the price of video-games haven't really gone up in the past 10 years or so. I remember paying F110,- for Super Smash bros and I payed €50 for smash bros brawl last year. If I take the conversion from guilder to euro that means I'd pay the same today as I did ten years ago which is quite amazing seeing as how inflation rose. Cartridge or no cartridge.

Aside from that, it's up to us gamers to make this strategy succesful. If we keep buying games en-masse with the higher price point then the industry will indeed follow suit. Make higher-priced games flop despite their AAA status and the developers will make their games cheaper. Something they do anyway a few months after release.

As for me... if the price is reasonable I'll buy. It's all relative.

I do not seem to own any activision products. That's a good start.

To all pirates: Do not even pirate Activision products :p

Anyway Sony did raise their software prices last year in the Netherlands (I messaged an online shop which confirmed this).
