LTD to me means Life-to-Date... which unless you state a date (which neither the OP nor you did) should mean today... as in the current console sales totals.

Clearly however both the OP and yourself were using the "life to death" meaning of the term, which is surely the same as saying: "once all three systems have stopped selling."

In my case you are comparing today's post to a prediction from two years ago. In Gilgamesh's case it's two posts from the same day.

I would say the sheer discrepancy of your two predictions should negate the time-difference.

My blue name holds more value than your 10k+posts. I am friendly with nordlead too and I don't believe you have been paying your mod-protection insurance.

Taking a look at last generation console install base wich is about 200 million, I don't think the current market is going to expand significatively, another question is the portable market NDS + PSP = 155 million vs GBA = 80 million.

So extrapolating last gen install base my estimation would be:

PS2 (145 million) ---------- Wii (115 million)
DC + Gamecube + XBox (55 million) ---------- XBox 360 (55 million + PS3 45 million) = (100 million)

Last gen final sales (200 million) ---------- Current gen final sales (215 million)
