Forums - Microsoft - Has anyone here played HL2: The Orange Box yet?

TF2 looks identical to the screenshots and trailers. The characters have great facial animations when talking, the visuals are great, and it does NOT take a high-end computer to play.

It definitely requires strategy to play, you can't just run and shoot everything you see...unless you're a Heavy I suppose, but that's his job!

Every game I play has constant communication...teamwork is the key. I usually play with at least one of my friends, and then 10 or so strangers on my team. We usually can cooperate very well.

And yes, Portal is a single player game. You need to get from point A to B, but there are obstacles in your way. In order to get there, you fire a Blue Portal. Then, you fire a Red Portal. When you walk through a Blue, you come out a Red. Use that concept and then things get complicated.

Here, this video explains better:

TF2 is AMAZING. Portal looks to be great fun...I've played its predecessor from the same developers, and MAN did it get crazy and near-nausea-inducing...but then again that was an older game with crappy graphics, so it wasn't as clear or pretty as Portal.

And Half Life 2 has been deemed one of the best games of all time by MANY people, sites, and magazines...Episode 2 is going to be an amazing continuation of the story.

Even if you're buying the console version...5 games in one for $60 is an EXCELLENT deal.  Half Life 2 is a fairly long game...depending on how fast you try to get through it.  Episode 1 and surely Episode 2 are shorter, yes...you'll probably beat the Episodes at 4-6 hours each.  Who knows how long Portal will take you...4 hours perhaps, though all these games have great replayability.  TF2 is INFINITE.

I just need to say...if you've never played Half Life 2, you really are missing out...Super Smash Bros is probably the only other videogame that beats it as my favorite game of all time.

I can't wait! Only 6 hours!!!!

Bet with disolitude: Left4Dead will have a higher Metacritic rating than Project Origin, 3 months after the second game's release.  (hasn't been 3 months but it looks like I won :-p )

^^ Thanx for the info, now I´m looking foreward to tomorow even more... I never even finishe HL2 because I had a bug that stopped me from getting further and I didn´t want to start over... do you need to know the story to enjoy episode 1&2 ???

Well...sorta. You'll see the end of Half Life 2 at the beginning of Episode 1 though, so you'll get caught up.

You get HL2 in the Orange Box though, you should just replay it hehe.

I am a bit saddened by how much this game is being overlooked and missed. This is one of the biggest releases of the year for me. People just don't seem to know anything about it.

I get this for sure :).

Believe me this wont be the next Halo (in terms of sales) but it will sell.

Same. In fact, I'd much rather play this on the PC than 360 or PS3 for 2 reasons: 1) the game will run better and have a much better framerate and 2) the PC online community is much more mature than the console online community.

Roadkillers, gamefly and charts like that mean absolutely nothing. I'm picking up this game tomorrow as soon as possible, but in general the gaming community doesn't seem too interested. I'm kind of worried about that.

1. Actually yes it does. Of course there not accurate but it gives a good prediction on what people wanna play. The game is gunna sell. Probally not that much on the PS3. Alright on the 360 but awesome on the PC.

2. No it doesnt work better on the computer. Atleast my computer. Hell my computer had a hard time playing Kid Pix and Minesweeper at a good framerate let alone a whole game.

Well okay but on a well built PC that has the recommended system requirements it's going to run much better. You also have to remember that Valve is a PC developer and as they have said many times, the Steam community comes first. We will get updates, patches, and fixes much faster on the PC when needed. Also any mods would be PC only.
