Forums - Gaming - Why is nobody talking about Tekken 6?

@ajescent

that is my question

why are expectation from one side to hype it when the xbox 360 fans have also shown they can hype games to the heavens, case in point Halo 3 back in 07 & now Forza 3

First thing about Tekken 6 is it's already out in arcades in 2007, and the graphics are good, but nothing to write home about. Graphics are really the only thing that could propel a game like this into being hyped. We already have this SCIV, VF5, SF4, so the multi-platform status of the game really shot it down into mediocrity. You have to admit that most fans of this game are Playstation owners, and were not one bit happy about the game going to xbox360, and are basically saying f u Namco. They might still pick up the game, but are certainly not going to hype it. The game screams 'more of the same' 3d fighter, with graphics that aren't blowing anyone away.

I don't care about Tekken games anymore. I got bored of them.

Wrong...Tekken went multi and nobody really cared....the answer is fighters are never really hyped...they have to be REALLY big ( SSB, SF4, MvsC) to get that kind of atention...but me and my bro are really lookin forward to it

Wrong.

When it went multiplat, PS3 owners downplayed its importance with that very damage control.

However, if this game was still PS3 exclusive, it would be touted as the best fighter so far this gen, and there would be hype trains, sales predictions, and everything else that comes for free with being a PS3 exclusive, quality be damned.

It shouldn't have betrayed the fanbase, and now it must pay....with passive-agressive foeboyism.

imho

I do seem to remember Tekken 5 being pretty hyped... a whole bunch of "It's better then virtual fighgter/other multi fighter" etc.  No wait 5 was PS2.  Maybe ut was when virtua fighter came out?  Some 360 fighter anyway.

But that was back when the PS3's lineup had like... absolutely nothing to brag about i believe.  So it could be that or it could be that it was just one of a few exclusives fanboys could tie their hat to.

If tekken 6 is so awesome, why aren't the 360 folks hyping it?

It's not a PS3 exclusive.

Sorry Akiba fan, I didn't read your post when I typed mine x_x

PS One/2/p/3slim/Vita owner. I survived the Apocalyps3/Collaps3 and all I got was this lousy signature.

Xbox One: What are you doing Dave?

1- It's not a PS3 exclusive.
2- The fighting genre isn't that popular anymore. When was the last time we had an Amazing fighting game? How many fantastic fighting games we had this decade?

BlazBlue, Soulcalibur 4, Street Fighter 4, Dead or Alive 4, Virtua Fighter 5...a fair number of awesomeness. Certainly not as much as the past gens though, of course.

GOTY Contestants this year: Dead Space 2, Dark Souls, Tales of Graces f. Everything else can suck it.

Its not fair to say TEKKEN 6 hype is down because of it loosing exclusivity althought its stupid to say it would be this less hyped as it would be used as ammo in the console war threads

BUT

example -- Final Fantasy XIII

its hype is anything but down since loss of exclusivity, in fact its still wanted badly by PS3 owners & hype is increasing

The simple fact is, these fighters just aren't popular anymore........no-one cares for them that much

But haven't JRPGs lost popularity.  I think the reason FFXIII remains of hyped is becuase the footage and graphics are among the best this gen technically and artisically.  There are a bunch of loud mouths complaining of the game coming to the 360 but they are just a very small yet vocal group.  Not to mention that the series has managed to remain as popular as it is despite the fanbase being divided by FFXII.  This just shows how much Final Fantasy means to the general public.
