$299 = 210 Euro
299 Euro = $424
$299= £179

mmm the price sound beliveable if we are talking about a 45/40nm revision, but I rather think Sony will rather cut $100 from the standard PS3 price (down to, say, $299 / $349) and sell the slim at $399 until the beginning of the next FY.

Do Americans get payed lower wages then?

Taz I am not going to get into currency and trade rates. Technically no.  Everything is priced and "rates" are held by the traders of the world. This would require a whole lecture which I am not prepared to give. 

it's called an exchange rate, I remember going into Japan in 2005 and the exchange rate was close to 140 yen for 1 dollar, last year it got as bad as 87 yen per dollar.  That didn't mean my money was less valuable in the US, and it didn't mean my salary was going to change.

ha, well...... I know there are products you can get for cheaper over there. Like I said the prices are set by trader for them to make money off of these products. It just depends on the product, location and the price ppl are willing to pay.
