Forums - Sony - EA reports they make more money on the PS3 than 360.

http://g4tv.com/thefeed/blog/post/698058/EA-Reports-Higher-Earnings-For-PS3-Than-Xbox-360.html

Electronic Arts has revealed that its PC, PlayStation 3 and Wii sales for the quarter ending June 30 were significantly higher than sales for its Xbox 360 titles.

MCVUK reports that Wii sales generated $161 million, a solid jump over last year’s $109 million, and PC sales topped $124 million. However, the most compelling disparity was between the PS3 and 360 sales, with the PS3 generating $121 million and the 360 pulling in just $73 million.

It’s easy enough to see why Wii sales and PC sales led that charge, (Wii: EA Sports Active. PC: The Sims 3), but the PS3/360 gap is a bit more difficult to explain, since there wasn't a PS3 exclusive that could have tipped the balance, and FIFA 10 hasn't even been released yet. (Sony has reported on several occasions that the PS3 outsells the 360 in Europe, so FIFA games always play a major role when it comes to overall sales.)

On the other hand, this isn’t totally surprising, considering that this time last year, EA reported similar results, with the PS3 netting $139 million and the 360 generating $81 million.

Any non-fanboy-based thoughts on why EA has managed to sell more titles on the PS3 than on the 360?

So does this mean EA will port L4D and Mass effect to the ps3?What do you think.

I don't get it... Every EA games they released sold better on the 360..unless I missed a major one.

PS3 games sell better in Eu?

Eu Revenue > US Revenue

Also any multiplats released in Japan would usually be in the PS3's favor.

4 ≈ One

Actually, it looks like EA just chose to defer some of their 360 revenues for whatever reason. Non-GAAP revenues show 360 games earning more than PS3.

well sports games such as fifa are really popular in europe as with football itself which isnt as popular in america and japan so it looks like sony are right when they say they've sold more consoles in europe. i cant see it being anything else

and its only a matter of time before L4D and mass effect are ported to the ps3 thats what i think
