You're looking too far into this. Gran Turismo 5 was missing from Sony's E3 lineup too and we all saw how that turned out. At the very most all this means is that GT5 won't be playable there.

If Sony doesn't announce a price-cut along with a PS3 Slim there will be mass riots. Or at least ridiculously high levels of disappointment, which could prove hurtful to its PlayStation business. I know I will be pissed as hell.

So come on Sony, make a PS3 Slim with PS2 BC for €299 real! I'll be lining up to buy one!

Remember there is always TGS for Sony to showcase GT5. This would allow them to spread out there announcements a little so that they don't overshadow each other.
