Next update should unclude, Ps2 b/c update. We know its coming.

Newer avatars. A helghast one, an infamous one, a U2 one, etc...

that's about it. Im pretty content with PSN as it is.

I'm not a PS3 owner, but I have a friend who is and today at the café he was complaining about creating a Japanese account. He said he couldn't read the japanese and so he couldn't create one.

Next update should bring readable japanese for my poor friend. Sony listen to me.

1) PS2 b/c (not happening I know)

2) MOVE the battery indicator in the in-game XMB! It covers the clock!

3) Permanent icon in the top left of the screen if you have a PSN message

4) Let us check save data, change settings, and maybe watch videos in in-game XMB.

5) Auto trophy syncing. Whenever you unlock a trophy, it should be automatically synced. Also, sync it automatically to the PSN website.

6) Party system

7) Cross game voice chat (I guess)

8) Charging controllers on standby (if this is possible with software)

9) Better looking friends list, it shouldn't be hidden under message box and all that. Make a "Messages" heading in the XMB or something, and just put "Add Friend" and your friends list in the "Friends" heading.

10) Allow more profile customisation

11) Allow for user search

12) ADD MORE AVATARS (and let us use custom ones)

13) Add a trophy leaderboard

14) Add functionality to search trophies for all games.

Not all in one update, but they should get started on those...

some of that stuff is just preference kantor. A lot of ppl would highly DISLIKE it if there was a permanant icon for unread msgs,

Right now I have about 50 unread msgs...i certainly wouldnt want a permanant icon always reminding me.

You know they're leaving that where it is just to fuck with us.  :P

They'll probably wait for 3.0, and announce it as one of the "big features" alongside cross game voice chat or something. 

OT:  I just want a few things...

Preferably with the next update:

1. Cross game voice chat
2. Auto-syncing Trophies

Farther in the future (rather, whenever they get around to it - if it's even possible):

1. Web browser accessible in-game
2. ps2 BC!

And something that probably has nothing to do with firmware at all:

More avatars!  The selection is crap, and it hasn't changed much since launch.  The only newer avatars I can think of are for Haze of all games.

i think the XMB theme will be redesign for 3.0.

they did it for the PSP and likely will do for the ps3.

i want crossgame voice chat, we have have it in everything from home to LBP, i want it in the ingame XMB.
btw: web browser its accessible in game, in metal gear online, just one tab, but does the job, sadly not when playing.
i don't think its possible when playing web browsing it really ram consuming.

I personally am happy with all the changes that have been made to the PSN, it has come a long way from when i first logged onto it in March 2007!

I would be happy if they added custom avatars into the mix
