Hey dude that wii making a loud buzzing noise. You can actually send that in under your warranty and they will fix that.

From what I've seen, the original XboX was a pretty solid console. Hearing about broken ones was EXTREMELY rare.

Sony´s console weren´t great either. My PS1 must be turned upside down for playing. If I don´t do this, nothing.

For PS2, I´m currently on third. DRE in both cases.

So yelling on MS only is a little unfair.

Xbox 360 failure rate>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> PS1 & PS2 failure rate combined

You are quite full of it. When it came out PS2 had atleast 15% failure rate within the first year. Much more after the second and third year. Also, first 3 gen models of PS2 were affected with DRE issue. You could fix it (just like you can fix RROD) if you knew what you were doing.

PS1 as well had a high failure rate for first gen models...

So this whole ">>>>>>>>>" is completely wrong.  PS1 + PS2 failure rate should be about equal to xbox 360 failure rate.

Whats worse is that sony only gave you 90 day warranty for both PS1 and PS2. Where Microsoft gives you 3 years...

Links for bolded parts please

I don't have hours to waste looking for theoretical stats on the net... PS1 came out in 1994, you really think the internet will have artciles about its falure rate? Net hardly existed back then...

Most sony fanboys like to pretend the nastyness of PS2 and PS1 launch models didn't happen but rest of us know the truth.  I had a launch ps2 for 6 months before it died on me...I used it mostly as a DVD player. Below are posts from respected people on this forum that have had similar experiences...

The bottom line is that MS is fixing their mistakes. People that bought first few models of PS1 or PS2 and had it die after 30/90 days were screwed.

People need to stop making these threads. Yes MS made a huge mistake but they are fixing it the best they can unlike some others...

disolitude is right about failure rates, but maybe not the bolded part.

Also, the 360 has the worst failure rate of any console this gen.

It's a fact.  It was a fact a year ago.  It was a fact a year before that.  It's old news.

Just like alot of PS3 fans have had 7 RROD's, lots of Xbox fans have had broken Playstations

I am not an xbox fan. Sega fan maybe...but the day xbox stops releasing cool games is the day I never give it a second glance.

oh, so you dont have real links just some forum posts? Ok.

@bladeofgod

LOL. Do you have real link for your ">>>>>" initial post? please paste PS1 and PS2 failure rates and the official xbox 360 failure rate and show that one is greater than the other... I didn't think so.

You're just being a fanboy + 1 as usual...

@ Disolitude

I know, I'm just pointing out some strange occurrences, but I understand alot of stories are legit

Listen guys a lot of information about older consoles is hard to find, and you won't find any articles on it. I remember a guy from Capcom (could have been the RE4 Producer) stating that PS2s were defective and that they had piles of them at Capcom offices not working. He went as far as accusing Sony of purposely making them defective so that people would buy more systems.

I can't post a link to this, it could have been a Magazine interview for all I remember. But it happened, and it's out there somewhere. Props to anyone that can find it.
