Versus seems like it has some better ideas on paper, but when choosing between something known to be good (played the Japanese demo) and something that so far is only a trailer I have to choose the thing that is known. My vote is for FFXIII

disclaimer: that idea of not choosing a game based on only a trailer is pretty ironclad, except for one. Team Ico has earned my adoration enough for me to choose their latest based on nothing.

Versus.

well versus always being my favorite, it more dark, it's action and it likely to have better story.

I always was interested in versus more. The trailer seems like a lot darker then other Final Fantasy. Gameplay similar to KH is another bonus,

Why will I choose? If I can get both.
Both will be great, both are FFs.

I would choose Versus. I prefer the darker tone, and any character that can teleport, put up force fields, deflect bullets, and draw multiple weapons in the air from one master sword definitely wins in my book.

I've played the japanese XIII demo and I was let down so far. The battle system was good so I think that part of gameplay will be fine, but I have some other concerns. I really hope the areas and paths won't be as linear in the full game. Also I'm worried the story and characters won't be that strong and voice acting will hurt the performances. Right now Sazh seems too goofy for the situations he's in. I kind of miss the days when Final Fantasy's used text because you could give each character their own cool sounding voice in your head.

Of all the new voice acted FF characters I would say Aurons was the best.

Well since theres no gameplay for Versus, I would pick XIII for now
