Now that a Wii-version with the vastly superior pointer-controller will be available i might finally enjoy this game, so unless they managed to screw it up completely i will buy it. |
I totally disagree with you on the controls, the Dual analogue are very accurate and precise with aiming and the turning of the camera, but hey different strokes for different folks, and that's fine cuz we all have different tastes, but don't go stating things as fact when their not and are merely your opinion.
In my opinion the closest controls to keyboard and mouse are those a dual analogue, if you care to notice the AWSD key for moving forward/backward and strafing left/right are 100% identical to the left analogue stick, while the right analogue stick is identical to the mouse in that when you move the mouse up/down/left/right the camera moves in those directions just you can do with a right analogue stick, the wii requires a bounding box that has to be hit before the camera turns in that direct, the mouse has no such bounding box, as the camera is directly controlled by the mouse.
The one thing neither control scheme can do is mimic the sharp turning speeds done with the flick of the mouse, the dual analogue sticks have their turning speed fixed but the reticle is always centred, the wii has the same issue with turning speed but not as bad, they do however sacrifice aiming in order to move the camera as the reticle is not fixed in the center of the screen but instead free roaming, just as they do in typical light gun shooters, although light gun shooters are on rails so it doesn't matter in that regard.
Now take what I said as you will, as I clearly stated that it's just my opinion on the matter.
