do you know, if it were Ubisoft doing this, there would be calls of a boycott right about now....why no similar suggestion to activision?

Why? I don't see the point in doing that.

I'm not suggesting a boycott, but it has been something thrown around by wii owners usually when they get shit on by publishers, Ubisosoft seem to be the largest target for those wierd online boycotts that really amount to nothing, so I'm surprised that no one has come out saying Boycott Activision...go figure.

I think they'd be too busy scratching their heads wondering why Ubisoft is porting an Activision game to call for a boycott.

That was the same thing I asked myself LOL

I'm sure it has more to do with the lesson learned. The boycotters were ridiculed, argued with, and were getting plenty of support anyways, making their cause look ridiculous. Many of the participators would rather us all forget they took part in it.

*facepalm at Activision's move*

On one side, I am interested to know how the game will look like and how it will be played with the Wii controls. On the other hand, the move to release the game at the same date as MW2 will keep many Wii owners out and might have very slow sales.

I don't expect it to sell many copies, not because the game is a port of a 2 year old game, but because of the marketing move. Activision will focus the advertising on Modern Warfare 2 and not the Wii version, add that some Wii owners that expected MW2 and didn't care about not having the first one at this time.

I agree with your points, but I plan to preorder this game as soon as possible.  I think Many Wii owners have been waiting for Activision to take the Wii seriously for a long time now.  If Activision releases a full version of the game, Wii owners will buy it.  A quality version of COD: 4 MW should outsell a bad quality version of COD: World at War.  I think a good Wii version could easily sell 3 million copies or more.

am I the only one uber-excited for this????

No, I'm nearly foaming at the mouth, really. I just hope they don't take too many things out.

Please Treyarch... This can actually be GOOD!! :(

The BuShA owns all!

Why are so many people upset? I don't see why, honestly it seems like common sense to me, hrm Wii gamers that only own one console probably haven't played the whole game of CoD4, Modern Warfare 2 is the squeal to this game if we put MW2 out on the Wii how will the gamers know the story? Simply put THEY WONT.

Though personally I'd think it'd be a little more fair if it was a MW 1 & 2 bundle that way it catches everyone up and no one can bitch but CoD4 on Wii is still CoD4 which is an amazing FPS, and even though I've beat it when it released on 360 I'll probably pick it up for Wii cause I liked the IR controls of W@W.

Except that it's Treyarch doing the work on them :P

I'm interested in seeing how it holds up to the PC/PS3/360 versions. I also wonder how well the multiplayer will hold up.

Agood Wii game can sell a lot of copies is the proper advertising is applied to reach the proper audience and let them spread the word to others to get into the game... I will have a wait and see apporach on how Activision, as a publisher, treats the game and the Wii gamer

I expect, in an interview that will come after the announcement (my guess, to be exact) this question will arise: Why after 2 years? This is not to attack Activision, but I am interested to know their answer

Activision thought FPS games could not sell well on the Wii, but "Call of Duty: World at War" proved they were missing a large population of gamers.  I agree they waited too long, but who cares.  It is better late than never and I know if Call of Duty 4:MW sells well, Activision will make a Wii of the sequel.  This might be an advertisment campaign left for Wii owners.  We have to advertise this game to others to make sure sales are good.
