No game I have ever played gave me a harder time than Vagrant Story. It was years ago but I still remember the brutal boss battles that took me hours to win or lose. I still remember the complicated weapon system that constantly dismissed a lot of my weapons after all the effort I put into upgrading them. This game is still fresh in my memory because of the misery it caused me. I don't know how but I eventually finished it after a few months, and it wasn't on and off gaming! I was playing it almost every day.

What was the most challenging game you have ever played?

Tetris... Still haven't beaten it.

Ninja Gaiden on xbox 1

Ninja Gaiden 2 on 360. Its almost like every encounter of fiends i run into, they brutally destroy me :/.

1-Shinobi (arcade), this game is INSANE

2-Ninja Gaiden 1 or 2 am not sure (snes of course)

I struggled with Ghost n Gobblins like for ever! I was just a kid, but still. That game was damn hard!

These indeed were tough. But I was wee kid back then XD

I could never do the Train level of Goldeneye on 00-Agent... I never understood what I had to do for a while, then when I found out I had to shoot both Ouromov and Xenia without hitting Natalya, I tried it a few times then just gave up.

Majora's Mask is difficult all the way through, but no difficulty spike

F-Zero GX story mode is a beast on the hardest mode, and in fact the 2nd hardest mode (there were 4 weren't there?) And I don't think I even completed the last level even on the easy mode.

The Conduit on the hardest mode is insane, I would say harder than the 3 games I have already mentioned.

Henry on No More Heroes on bitter difficulty is a beast too. In fact I suppose the last 3 bosses of NMH are challenging on any difficulty level, it's just Bad Girl and Jeane you can learn how to dispose of them well enough... wheras Henry you can learn how to avoid his attacks, but you are forced to grind away at him on bitter difficulty (I think it took me 800-900 hits on him, over about an hours fight to beat)
