Forums - Gaming - Anyone else dislike sci-fi games?

When they do not over do sci-fi element i will enjoy the game. But games that go to far out like"the conduit." Good game but to much things that were cliche.

Currently Playing: Mass Effect (360)

gosh infamous08 stop trolling Halo

I'm with you, OP, or i would be but for my love of Metroid.

I try not to let a game's classification get in the way of the game itself, but i find that sci-fi games are generally the less creative games, the bald space marine genre, etc. I also find that having science as the basis for the story does tend to weaken certain genres, like horror games. I've always found it stupid that the Resident Evil zombies weren't really "zombies" in the classical sense, but just a biological anomaly. Same with Dead Space. It just takes something out of it.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

Can someone explain what sci fi is again? I thought I knew what it was since I thought anything involving aliens, time travel, interstaller travel, robots, technobabble, etc. was considered sci fi but apparently, Star Wars is fantasy, not sci-fi.

I really don't care either way.

Absolutely zero interest in World War FPS games though... I like the weapons from the era to be included in arcadey games, but a full game with them is a no thanks.

Not me. I absolutely loved Mass Effect, and also really like the Halo universe.

Play Mass Effect, then see if you hate sci-fi games.

The thread creator already has a dislike for Mass Effect.

"WRONG. Even Resistance had way too much SciFi crap for my tastes. Mass Effect, and even Dead Space as well. FFXIII with it's future look and showing battle with alien squids is a turn off."

As a setting, I like fantasy the most. But the art and setting isn't everything in a game.

I LOVE ICELAND!

Fantasy is unrealistic in the past, future and now (goblins, dwarfs etc.)
Sci-fi is more like this could happen in the future. (virus, aliens etc.)

Starwars is a bit of both. It's a level 3 civilisation. It's very hard to imagine when we are a zero level civilisation on earth. Messing with DNA I believe we can almost create anything.
