Forums - Nintendo - When will multiplatform games be developed first on Wii?

This is no excuse. NFL 2k5 on the xbox looks closer to HD madden than Madden 2009 Wii(and presumably 2010). There is simply no reason why madden on Wii isn't at Xbox 1 levels.

Threads like these make me sick. I don't care if wii multiplatform games aren't the lead version, as long as it ends up being good. Look at Ghostbusters Wii for example.

Not gonna happen. But i really dont care about it.

MY ZELDA COLLECTION

No

Because multiplat is made to get $$$ and if you have to develop another game for wii it cost a lot and the wii users dont buys a lot of 3rd parties... so it wont.

Only with games that take real advantage of wiimotion control (like tiger grand slam etc)

If you think you're gaming too much, Game even more !

I find it funny how some people say it will never happen when several posts above them have already given a very recent example.

I think when they say "never", they mean it will never be the norm. The Wii will be lucky to get in on the multiplatform goodness the PS3 and 360 share at all. Wii being the lead platform is probably never going to be anything but a rare exception.

I understand that the Wii was the leading platform for the latest Harry Porter game. It seems that EA and Ubisoft finally found out that crappy ports are poor sellers and are actually investing some money in Wii development. If you check out the latest EA financial statement, it looks like the strategy is paying off.

I don't think that will ever happen tbh, its easier for devs to do the HD graphics and downgrade them for Wii than do Wii graphics and then have to redo them for the HD consoles.

I think that doing something for the Wii and then continue for the HD twins is more reliable than the opposite. That is happeining with Grand Slam Tennis.

Its easier to grab on a Wii game and improve and upscale the existing graphics to PS360, because anything graphically on the Wii those consoles can handle, than the opposite. An uncharted port would be impossible, the Wii can't handle all those physics, shaders, lightning and polygons.

From HD to the Wii is almost impossible as developers been claiming.

But from Wii to HD it is just a matter of improving the polygon count and re adapt the gameplay for button controls of course.

not even the ps3 get that treatment even if the end product turns out better for both consoles.
they develop the cheapest, and port cheapest.

The Wii is usually the lead platform for multi plat games being developed for Wii, PS2 and PSP.

So what is your point?

Problem is that a lot of HD games come out on the PC also... in which case, there is no appeal to develop on Wii, the lead is PC360----PS3.

I hardly see how Wii lead could benefit developpers.... the budget for developping the HD games will be the same, the costs are not in the story elements or gameplay descision, but in making the game HD...

Besides using the wii developpment as a beta version to root out bad gameplay descision or designs, there is no use for it as a lead.... and i'm not sure we'd really want that.

However developping with the Wii port in mind for control options would be nice.
