no wonder it's every critic recommended the wii version. It's probably destroying the HD version saleswise.

This. Exclusives turn out better anyway.
"Pier was a chef, a gifted and respected chef who made millions selling his dishes to the residents of New York City and Boston, he even had a famous jingle playing in those cities that everyone knew by heart. He also had a restaurant in Los Angeles, but not expecting LA to have such a massive population he only used his name on that restaurant and left it to his least capable and cheapest chefs. While his New York restaurant sold kobe beef for $100 and his Boston restaurant sold lobster for $50, his LA restaurant sold cheap hotdogs for $30. Initially these hot dogs sold fairly well because residents of los angeles were starving for good food and hoped that the famous name would denote a high quality, but most were disappointed with what they ate. Seeing the success of his cheap hot dogs in LA, Pier thought "why bother giving Los Angeles quality meats when I can oversell them on cheap hotdogs forever, and since I don't care about the product anyways, why bother advertising them? So Pier continued to only sell cheap hotdogs in LA and was surprised to see that they no longer sold. Pier's conclusion? Residents of Los Angeles don't like food."

EA actually did confirm that Wii was the lead platform for Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10. Having extra modes, better controls and all the DLC kinda proves that statement..
For sports games like that, it makes sense, but other titles should be exclusives or at least exclusive in the fact that it's a different version with different gameplay and modes etc
Never. A game ported from wii to hd consoles would bomb.
A different version of the multiplatform game is made specifically for the Wii. HD version, a Wii version and a portable versiomn of any given multiplatform game are made with a lot of multiplatform games. Big development studios such as EA, Ubisoft, etc have the financial resources to pull off three projects of the annual multiplatform games.
As someone who loves the Wii and wishes it were more respected by developers I'll have to say never. developers have decided that the Wii is something separate from other game development, and either they back the Wii or they decide enhanced graphics are the way of the future. There simply won't be a time, especially since the console cycle is coming to an end, that the Wii gets to be the lead console.
You do not have the right to never be offended.
we'll get the kind of support we want when great games like the conduit, madworld, and other great 3rd party games start sell as much as there worth (1million at least) otherwise forget great games on wii being a regular thing.........

When will the "deluge" of such games begin? Why hasn't PS36C games been developed for wii first, then ported, considering that many do not run at a resolution marginally better than 480p(Modern warefare 1+2)? Discuss. |
Profit isn't guaranteed just because its the Wii. Third party devs have tried to put the Wii first. Nintendo doesn't help to market their games properly and the installed base of the Wii seem to care for first party more than anything. Second of all it's the weakest of all the systems. Why should devs start off with the weakest system? Third, the controls are totally different.
you might see some XBLA or PSN games that could be developed on the wii first as they already share some titles....but when we are talking full retail games...the systems tend to provide different experiences...and one is significantly less powerful than the other two(not naming names here *cough*ps3*cough*) so it couldnt even handle the same experiences
