It seems as if the PS3 slim is only a few fans short of the second coming of Christ. In all seriousness, what's the big deal? The hardware is already exceptional. It is a beautiful, shiny black with chrome piece of hardware. It has no real hardware weaknesses that have been exposed (yet) and really isn't as big as people make it out to be.
A slim is a re-engineer (costly) that still has all the same components save some plastic. I can't imagine the overall system shrink (other than die, of course) really saves much money and it introduces the possibility of trapping more heat? Why push it so hard? And why are people acting like it is a game changer?
Just curious. I love my PS3 for what it is -- high quality technology. Leave well-enough alone for a while, Sony.
