I have similar sentiments,
what self-respecting Halo fan hasn't bought a 360 yet and was waiting for OSDT to do so.

Just curious here. If all that is said is true, where there is a Slim version of the PS3, the price cut AND GT5, and Sony STILL is beat by Microsoft over the holidays, are we going to stop getting these predictions that make the people who make them look bad?
My take here:
1. The Slim version is nice, but not a top feature. It only matters if there is a price cut.
2. GT5 isn't as huge as it used to be, due to a glut of driving games out there. Also, I would consider sim driving games less mass appeal than FPS games. When GT5 came out, the Playstation consoles were the top brand, and Gran Turismo surprised everyone, and it got a large following at the time. Now the genre is established, and Gran Turismo is also late to the game. Is Mario Kart Wii a killer app that drives Wii sales? Will GT5 surpass Mario Kart Wii in sales? I don't think it will.
3. The price cut is important, but why does it make a difference if the PS3 is still the most expensive console?
And all this is predicated upon Microsoft (and Nintendo) doing nothing also for Sony to win.
If all that is true then it will be the best holiday season to date for the PS3. Will it be enough to beat the other 2 consoles, I dont know. I will guess that it will beat the 360 but not the Wii.
The Slim is pretty much guaranteed based on all the recent leaks, but there's no way they've refined the parts-making process enough to reduce the price by half like some people are talking about.
No, they haven't. Even if these rumors of a slim, price cut, GT5, etc. were true, they still wouldn't sell too many systems due to the disproportionately high demand for the Wii60.
But again, since there's no evidence for a slim, price cut, etc., there's no reason to believe Sony will finish anywhere but third.

I'm sure a few weeks ago, nobody even anticipated Sony winning the console war this holiday season. Since the Xbox 360's price-cut last August, it has managed to consistently outsell the PlayStation 3 in the European and North American markets, however small the margin may be. |
We don't need another random blogger to tell us this! I've been saying this for months on these forums. Over and over again. Sony will win 2009 thanks to Aug/Sep price cut + Slim.
Many of us here on VGC are a lot more knowledgeable than all these fanboy bloggers you keep digging up.
