The Wii is not going to outsell the PS2. The Wii was never going to have crazy sales forever. The bottom was always going to fall out eventually, especially with a complete lack of decent games. Casual people were always going to move on to something else. These are facts of life that the Ninteno fanboys need to understand. Also, what a few thousand people on an internet forum think means exactly diddly squat to Nintendo, Sony, Microsoft, or anyone else in the real world... |
you sound just like one of the kids you are trying to call out. before you call angry nintendo fans uneducated, here's some food for thought.
- the author, quick to point out the wii's complete lack of software coming, ignores titles like NSMBWii, wii fit plus, and the many 3rd party offerings coming. all of this will likely give at least some boost in hardware sales.
- while not bashing the wii itself, the tone he uses when referring to WSR oozes synicism. he mentions the frisbee minigame but conveniently ignores swordfighting and jetskiing.
- the author says the wii is struggling to attract buyers. it's two competitors still have to combine their sales to compete with it.
- he calls the wii's upcoming lineup "anaemic". i'll let you research the list of upcoming wii games yourself.
i don't completely disagree with the article, as it brings up some valid points. take a look at the big picture, though. PS3 sales get worse every year and the 360 has needed several price cuts to maintain its sales, yet you don't hear these "analysts" writing alarmist articles about their situations. nintendo has seen profits decline, that much is true. but they are still making tons of money in an economy in shambles. i say we all just slow down and wait for the 360 and PS3 to outsell the wii for an extended period worldwide before we say nintendo's in any trouble.
