I really liked Activision near the start of the generation...

But, Rock Band sells $20-30 track packs... Activision changes things a bit and sells $50-60 track packs...

Infinity Ward is the name I associate with Call of Duty success... Treyarch games are not as well written but are called Call of Duty even though they take the series in many different directions.

Suing a company because they kept going on a property you gave up on (Brutal Legend) is plain wrong.

Cancelling Wet ticked me off... Glad Bethesda picked it up...

The last Tony Hawk was crap...

Treyarch's James Bond QoS game was garbage...

Their comment about not supporting the PS3 (maybe) going forward was completely a grandstanding lie... It is not going to happen.

It just seems to go on and on. Maybe Activision needs to be taught a lesson.

This

Add to the list:

splitting starcraft 2 into 3 fully priced games,

planning to introduce partialy paid for battlenet,

increasing price of MW2 to 55 pounds,

Keeping prices of COD4 and COD5 at 60$ for long months

trying to sell as much crappy plastick gimmick controlers for 50-100$ as possible

well since we have like 10 guitar hero or band hero or wathever per year........ but I enjoy Prototype it was very nice to play with it but I don't like Call of Duty so Activision is not very in my mind right now.

overall as long as the game are good i find it hard to hate any company.

however, i'm kind of pissed about what they are doing to starcraft to the point i'm not sure i'm going to buy it anymore and although i was never going to buy MW2 i'm kind of scared that the price hike in the UK is going to become standard soon.

I think Activision need to learn from Blizzard.

I never understood the hate against EA especially now when they made games like Mirror's Edge and Dead Space for all those complainers.

Yearly NHL

Yearly NCAA Football ('cept Wii)

Yearly NCAA Basketball

Cut PC Support "because of piracy", yet put games on Mac.

DRM Shit (Spore Specifically)

NFL Head Coach is still $60.

Gimped Wii Ports.

Marvel Nemesis Game (Blegh overhype)

Repackaging old games

Tried to buy Take-Two, Hostile & Repetitively

Tried to get exclusivity deal

Crappy Hardware (Rock Band again)

This year there will be 3 Different NFS games.

Sequels to Madden Games get about 6 months of development or less (EA interview in game informer); Little to no improvements year-to-year.

my biggest issue with activision is not so much the games or support or lack of support, although i wouldn't mind CoD: MW2 for wii. the peripheral crazy nature of its IPs worries me. guitar hero, band hero, dj hero, tony hawk ride...
i wonder how much plastic will end up in landfills in a couple of years thanks to activision

You mention a lot of EA's crimes, but you fail to mention the most important of them all.

EA Killed Westwood. They bought them hostaile, and relocated all of their employees. After that, all the new games in former westwood franchises have been jokes compared to what they would have been if westwood made them themselves. I will never forgive EA!

I am quite fond of them actually...dont like any of their games though =P

On the subject of Activision blizzard, I like guitar hero quite a bit. I also have enjoyed nearly every Blizzard game produced (Diablo 3 incoming yay!). I do believe that they were grandstanding on the PS3 development (most likely in an effort to get licensing fees reduced). So I will buy the games, but ignore their management until it has an impact on the games.

Well i really couldnt care less about Activision at the moment, i think the only game i own for it is CoD:WaW (wii) but i will trade that in in next few days, i like guitar hero but never enough to buy it (i play it round friends houses) but if they confident they can succeed with their strategy than fair enough.
