I can't believe people are denying that lair was hyped alot, it won't be the first time a bad game was overhyped, especially ps2 launch games, the bouncer? remember that, driving emotion s, even street fighter ex 3 and then when it actually came out the only decent game was fantavision... lair however was under the umbrella protection of ultra-hype of the hardware like early ps2 games and the hype just derailed the second the game actually went under any scrutany when the reviews started appearing

I remember just a few months ago message boards ablaze about how Lairs graphics would destroy the xbox 360, how it would turn put the ps3 to number 1, a bad game killed the dream though,

I don't think that only games sell consoles but not only hype either, right now there is no doubt that the 360 has the best library, and the best games in the near future, mario is big and SSBB is huge but only 2 games (my opinion) is not enough to sell consoles so the hype is helping a lot.
On the other hand all the negative hype (deserved because of HW failures) is stoping the 360 to sell more even with more games.
That is my perspective

I don't know if I saw the right clip but being proud of 5 games is not much, MP3, zelda and Mario ok... but sonic whats good about sonic, exite truck??

I have a question for grandmaster192. If Nintendo Wii does not have great games then why is it that their games receive excellent reviews? Such as Zelda TP, Metroid Prime 3, Paper Mario. And i just named a few 1st party games. The hype that the Wii has is pure genius. Its all word of mouth and of course some commercials. Nintendo Wii games happen to attract a broader market. For example, Wii offers first person games (MP), adventure (Zelda), Sports games, educated games (Brain Training). Furthermore, you cannot forget the fact that Microsoft invest a lot more money in their adds. For instance look at Halo 3. That game was constantly hyped. I would see Halo adds on Mountain Dew bottles, commercials, front page of yahoo, toys, and even snacks. Also Gears of War. For the love of God that game was advertised on major networks such as ABC and NBC during popular shows, and if you want to add some BS saying Nintendo does the same thing they don’t, because they simply cant afford that kind of marketing. Instead Nintendo their console on less watched net works such as the CW, MTV, cartoon network, and once in a while NBC but during a show that doesn’t have high ratings. Bottom line the hype is their for a reason, and Nintendo doesn’t spend a fourth of what Microsoft does. So don’t a baby and cry about hype, because Microsoft has all the money in the world it’s just that their strategy isn’t as good as Sony’s (before PS3 of course), and Nintendo. One more thing I have never seen a commercial of Zelda TP on TV, and it has sold 2 million copies already. Thanks for reading, and I don’t me to sound like a bitch.

I've read this before, and I would like to know: What was wrong with Excite Truck? 

This is just my opinion, but I found it to be quite fun.  It was fairly shallow(No online & limited multiplayer options), but that didn't seem to take much away from the overall fun factor for me. 

So did you just not like it overall, or were there specific reasons?

Or, it's just an awesome system.
