Yeah but MS wouldn't count the replaced one's as sales.

I didn't mean the ones MS replaced themselves, i meant the replacements bought at retail.

They're going to count someone buying another 360 over the counter in a store or from the internet - i.e. making a new purchase as the OP describes. This very site will do the same. The topic isn't replacements for existing, failed units, its going out and buying a second or third unit.
Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...
