I guess reading comprehension isn't one of your strong suits.  I said that Wii Sports (the new IP) is a great game and that Wii Sports Resort is even better.

wii sports is a game you play for an hour than never play again for another six month's.that's not a good game.

@deathbleachnarutodbz

perhaps you havnt played it in months (or ever), but i know several poeple who still play it. like i said, just becuase you dont like it doesnt mean that nobody else likes it.

and besides, who the hell said nintendo was "scared" to release a new ip. they are mainly focused on sequels because that is what they think people want. i personally want them to forget about new ips right know and focus on the new zelda.

Maybe you, but not me or many others. Just because you don't like something doesn't mean that it's not well made. Wii Sports has ushered in an entire new type of gaming, and I would argue that it's the very most important IP to be released this generation. The motion controls in Wii Sports, more than any other game started the phenomenon that the Wii has become. Also, in case you haven't noticed, both Microsoft and Sony are now releasing motion controllers themselves in direct response. Not bad for a game that people play for one hour and don't play again for six months, is it?

It's a hard decision when you've made a game, do you make sequels or just keep doing new ips? Each move has its ups and downs. But Nintendo has been one to choose both, choosing to continue famous series while at the same time providing new ones. I personally like this approach. I mean, I'm sure Last Guardian is going to be great, but wouldn't w e all like to be playing Shadow of the Colossus 2? Or see the spyro series continue? I'm sure Sony would have appreciated the sales that come from continuing a series.

"Pier was a chef, a gifted and respected chef who made millions selling his dishes to the residents of New York City and Boston, he even had a famous jingle playing in those cities that everyone knew by heart. He also had a restaurant in Los Angeles, but not expecting LA to have such a massive population he only used his name on that restaurant and left it to his least capable and cheapest chefs. While his New York restaurant sold kobe beef for $100 and his Boston restaurant sold lobster for $50, his LA restaurant sold cheap hotdogs for $30. Initially these hot dogs sold fairly well because residents of los angeles were starving for good food and hoped that the famous name would denote a high quality, but most were disappointed with what they ate. Seeing the success of his cheap hot dogs in LA, Pier thought "why bother giving Los Angeles quality meats when I can oversell them on cheap hotdogs forever, and since I don't care about the product anyways, why bother advertising them? So Pier continued to only sell cheap hotdogs in LA and was surprised to see that they no longer sold. Pier's conclusion? Residents of Los Angeles don't like food."

"The so-called "hardcore" gamer is a marketing brainwashed, innovation shunting, self-righteous idiot who pays videogame makers far too much money than what is delivered."

The Wii clearly shows that Nintendo is scared of making something new.

Yep. Like the extremely successful Wii franchise that's been around since the NES days.
