26 million? that's only 7 million sold all year, the PS3 would sell 3 - 4 million in the last couple months of the year if it didn't have any price cut or slim, so it'll easily make it over 30 million without a price cut or slim by the end of 2009.

Typical comments like this. It will reach 26m.

Last year (2008), the PS3 ($399) sold 4,674,000 units between August 3rd and December the 28th. The console had a bad holiday season.

Now, this year if a $299 Slim releases in a few weeks, it should do over 6.5M units in this period, meaning the PS3 would be near 30M by the years end, not 26M.

Even if the Slim releases in October time, it should still do better than the previous year, meaning the VERY LEAST the PS3 can be at by the years end is 27.5M.

But so far PS3 is doing 10% below last yr numbers.. So if there is no price cut than i think it will do not 4.67m rather it will do aroun 4m.. But with slim and price cut 6.5 - 7m look possible.

Even with these numbers, if the PS3 sells 10% less, and last year it sold 4,674,000, it means that this year it will sell another 4,270,000, and based on the numbers right now, it will place it at more than 27 million units sold.



Bet with Dr.A.Peter.Nintendo that Super Mario Galaxy 2 won't sell 15 million copies up to six months after it's release, the winner will get Avatar control for a week and signature control for a month.

they can launch a slim with no price cut and not alot will happen, because its not the ps3 that people have a problem with, its the price, so if sony give people a slim and no price cut they have been very stupid (again) the only reason for a slim is so they dont have to pay as much for the parts, so sony please do something right, launch the ps3-slim at around £199-£220 (although after a month £220 will still be to much money) and this Xmas have an ad campain that makes sence! not many people understand your weird ads, and when ur last in the race it wont help you at all!
