Try out the Xenosaga games. They are VERY good. They have a complex story, but the battle system is fun and the characters are likeable. Except the 2nd games battle system is a little tricky to understand. But part I and III are the bomb!

Also try out Star Ocean Till End of Time, that is my 2nd favorite game of all time!

I have some JRPGs that I haven't played yet in my collection, so I can't really say...go buy it.

I am playing a dark JRPG called Shadow Hearts atm, at the end. Good game, but not worth the 30 "used" price I had to pay to get it.

You are correct FFX uses CTB (from FF4). Suikoden should be a good alternative. 5 has a good story and the series does not rely on cut scenes and cinemas enough to make older titles unbearable to playthrough. Suikoden 1 and 2 look amazing on a PSP and passable on my PS3.

PS2 is region locked for both games and DVDs, PS3 is not.

Star Ocean is a great game however, Manos is interested in Turn based RPGs only (AFAIK).

Definitely get both Grandia I and II. They are some of the best JRPGs out there!

Does anyone know how I can change the camera controls on FF XII? That invert camera really annoys me.

It's the same thing in Rogue Galaxy. I guess you have to get used to it, eh?

Like in Persona 4, if you invert camera controls, it changes the right control stick (good), but the L1/L2 and R1/R2 buttons are inverted. What the heck? xD

Noooooooo! I just ordered rogue galaxy.  :( There should be big warnings about stuff like that. :(
