Reasonable said: Try Battlefield demo first is obvious move.
Echochrome is great but is a single player puzzle only, so if you lean to coop it may not be to your tastes.
Personally I'd actually recommend Wipeout HD or Flower, which I believe are the best games on PSN right now (with Battlefield and Warhawk close behind) - but of course they may not be to your tastes.
A fair few PSN titles have demos, so I'd grab as many as you can as that may help you.
I guess if you want to think laterally you could stick to Battlefield demo right now as in the end you are playing the game for free and online vs opponents at that, and pick something else then upgrade Battlefield later if you like it enough.

i already have Wipout HD, Flower and Warhawk.
come to think of it , i might end up buying Fury update for Wipeout , i heard it changes the game completly.

I thought Fury was a pretty good update - new tracks, new ship designed, 2 new gameplay types, etc. so yeah that might be a good way to go.
Also, I tried Battlefield demo first before buying, and I got the feeling you could have hours of online fun with the demo alone so like I say that might be a good way to spread your cash for now, playing the demo and getting something else.
The Last Guy I find fun too - although it's a pretty cheap looking game. I find something addictive in trying to work out how to save everybody and to do it faster than last time, even though 'everybody' is just a bunch of dots.
I really like Echochrome, too - but it is a true puzzle title, so only worth it if you like that sort of thing.
Oh, and take a look at Everyday Shooter - that's great too IMHO. A real little gem. No demo but I think you can check gameplay vids on net. Superstardust is pretty good too.
