I just wonder, as they seem far overpriced at the moment. I really want to jump in, but I'm going to wait till they become somewhat comparable with DVD's. I can understand the Blu Ray player being more expensive because of the cost of the development of the technology. My question is again, how much are the production of Blu Ray disk movies as opposed to movies on DVD disks?

i really have no clue man, but i've never payed more than 20 bucks for a blu ray... amazon has some good deals. a lot of older movies vary but i saw recently a lot of them for under 10 and 15 bucks. new releases are barely over 20 on amazon as far as i know, which is what I remember dvd's being back in the day
Blu Rays probably cost less than 25 cents more to make than their DVD counterparts at the manufacturing level. I would assume that the mastering process cost per movie is doubled as they have to master a DVD version(video, 5.1 sound, DVD extras) and BR version (video,7.1 sound and BR extras).
Getting an XBOX One for me is like being in a bad relationship but staying together because we have kids. XBone we have 20000+ achievement points, 2+ years of XBL Gold and 20000+ MS points. I think its best we stay together if only for the MS points.
Nintendo Treehouse is what happens when a publisher is confident and proud of its games and doesn't need to show CGI lies for five minutes.

I see them too. It's just that all the time when I am at the store they seem so overpriced.

It doesn't seem to be enough to warrant the price difference at the consumer level.

Most new technologies feel the need to pay off early consumers by screwing them as much as possible. DVD did the same thing.

Yeah, the problem is that Blu Ray is not seen as the leap over DVD, that DVD was over VHS.
i think blu ray disk cost around 20 cents per gb ( i read it somehwere but dont remember)
not sure about dvds

so dont buy them in the store? lol... amazon rules.. i got prime, so its free 2 day shipping, no tax and marked down compared to stores.
