What makes you think it will cost that much?

http://news.vgchartz.com/news.php?id=4497

  • A 30 day ticket - 800 Wii Points
  • A 60 day ticket - 1500 Wii Points
  • A 90 day ticket - 2000 Wii Points

As long as I don't have to continually pay I don't think i'll mind... I would probably only pay for 1-2 months worth.

Unless of course there is no way to play the game single player? as in that case I don't think i'd buy it.

I knew nothing about this game until about 3 or 4 months ago.  I am looking for a good RPG game for the Wii and this game does look interesting.  However, $20 for 3 months a little much.  My favorite RPG is Diablo II LoD, but I never bought World of Warcraft due to the $15/month fee.  This game is better than WoW, but it is still not pleasant.  It is only needed for online play, but I think online is essential for all FPS and RPGs since the SNES.  I am surprised Capcom does not include a 12 month subscription price for around $50.  I am not sure if I still want such an expensive game.

Will the cost of online play affect your purchase?

Some of the recent videos I've seen online and ads/interviews I've read in magazines were beginning to sway me towards purchasing my first MH game either tomorrow or soon after. But, the pay-to-play system and prices have really soured my opinion on the game.

So, to answer your question: yes.

It is free to play the game on single player.

Question:Will this game support duels like in Diablo II LoD or will online just be Co-Op like Fable II?

If I'm going to be forced to pay, I'm not going to play. I don't pay for my games after the initial cost of purchasing it.

if I was interested in buying the game in the first place, yes, I wouldn't buy it if i had to pay to play. I only spend 30-50 a month on gaming, so it would mean buying no new games.

If you drop a PS3 right on top of a Wii, it would definitely defeat it. Not so sure about the Xbox360. - mancandy

2000 points to play for 3 months is a fairly alright deal for me. I would probably not play it past the 3 month period though if I can finish it in that time; but may pick it up again some time in the future.

Did you just word that badly or are you saying it will be pay to play.

The Capcom boards have mods saying that Capcom is not planning on using a pay for play system in the US.

Yes, that. I don't know what I was thinking when I typed that comment. It is worded badly.

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.

Plus, just for the hell of it: Kelly Brook at the 2008 BAFTAs

What makes you think Monster Hunter 3 is better than WoW? Have you played it?

OT: Yes it will affect because I won't buy it if I have to pay per months.

Do not take my word for this, since i know little about the series, but from what i've seen it's co-op is similar to the ARPG MMO, Phantasy Star Online. There is a central community (a marketplace in this case), which serves as a lobby, where you meet allies and can then embark on individual quests with them.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.
