Yeah 3 million is ... way off the mark. Considering around Halo 3 has around 1 million unique players every week, this should do at least 2.5 mill first week.

Halo ODST 8 million , Halo Reach (We don't even know what Genre it is, so I can't even make a guess). But I guess I'll estimate it at about 6 million. So in grand total I think Halo as a franchise will break the 40 million mark by the end of this generation!
Also just want to be clear, Halo4 will not be a 360 title. It's 99.9% going to be a launch title for Microsoft's next X-Box in 2011 when Nintendo and Sony's five year life cycles have come to their close!

I think you are vastly underestimating the selling potential of Halo: Reach.
Perhaps this new team is making Halo 4 (isn't that already a fact?) if so how long have they been working on it? it could be available for 2011 (a new xbox probably won't be out by then) and have Bungie go for Halo 5 for the new Xbox.

Interesting. Either way, Microsoft will be hiring a dev to make the next generation of Halo titles.

For all we know Halo Reach could be a puzzle game, just look at HaloWars its an RTS so it only sold alittle over one million units. Depending on the genre it could sell upwards of 8 mill or as low as 1 mill. If Bungie gives us another FPS then I think it will sell as well as ODST, if Bungie goes in a new direction we could see drastically less sales.
It's really difficult to estimate any numbers for Reach. To me it looked like it could be a sequel to HaloWars, or maybe a prequel to Halo:Combat Evolved. We just don't know so to underestimate its potential is just as easy as over estimating. All we've seen is a short teaser trailer that told us only that the game will take place in a pre-Halo:Combat Evolved world. Nothing about Genre or gameplay!
We know nothing about Reach. Of course I read Halo:FallOfReach so I have a basic idea about the world the game is taking place in. But no clue how the game will be implemented in that world. Heck it could even end up being a flight simulator where you take control of one of the UNSC's ships during the various space battles in (Fall of Reach).
There's just so much we don't know about the game!

Reach is an FPS.
44 million if ODST, and Reach are the only Halo's released for the remainder of this gen. 55 million if another mainstream halo (halo 4) comes out.
