Forbid third parties to sell games for PlayStation systems

That way all games sold are first party which will earn Sony more money than the little royalty fees they charge for third party games.

Buy Rare from Microsoft

Always a great investment for the future.

Sell PS2s which are packaged into Wii boxes

Extremely high profit margins.

What the OP should have been...

Booooooo

I updated my first post in this thread.

The problem here is that what's good for the PS3 and what's good for Sony are two entirely different things at this point, and that isn't a place where any console maker ever wants to be. The only thing that can really help the PS3 at this point -a price cut- will hurt Sony terribly (this being the only reason that Sony hasn't cut the price several times by now; they would if they could). But if Sony continues to play it safe, the PS3 will languish.

The one way I could see out of this is to release a Slim that costs less to produce, not cut the price initially, pocket the savings while Sony gets back on its feet, and then cut the price as soon as it's feasible to do so. This is a risky move, because it depends on Sony maintaining what little momentum it has, since the release of the Slim won't generate much of a surge due to the lack of a price-drop, which will hurt their PR (there will still be some surge, due to technophiles 'trading up' to the latest model, but that will be it). If this actually works, it would let them build off of a stable base to the point where they could start making some actual money on the hardware, and then possibly drop the price to generate further sales at a later date. If it doesn't work, then nothing could have saved them anyway.

Complexity is not depth. Machismo is not maturity. Obsession is not dedication. Tedium is not challenge. Support gaming: support the Wii.

What do I hate about modern gaming? I hate tedium replacing challenge, complexity replacing depth, and domination replacing entertainment. I hate the outsourcing of mechanics to physics textbooks, art direction to photocopiers, and story to cheap Hollywood screenwriters. I hate the confusion of obsession with dedication, style with substance, new with gimmicky, old with obsolete, new with evolutionary, and old with time-tested.
There is much to hate about modern gaming. That is why I support the Wii.

simple.... release the socom patch.....

I remember Legend making another thread that failed just as hard as this one. I locked it out of pity, it was painful to watch.

locked, there's no discussion here anyway, and I don't think you ever intended for there to be.
