Forums - Microsoft - Carmack: Rage runs faster on Xbox 360

Wow...

Assuming this is a true screen, and not a bullshot, this game will give Killzone 2, Uncharted II, Gears of War and any other potential "console graphic's king" out there a run for its money.

I agree friend. It's interesting that some people here will try to play the game down out of fear.

And exactly how do you know it's the PS3's limitations and not the company's developing ways?
And about the media comment, the screen shots look a lot better than the videos. Once again, you "thinking" this game is better looking than Killzone 2, is purely YOUR opinion.

IMPORTANT: Scratch that!! I'm done!! You win! I'm tired of this. Everything you've said is complete fact, and cannot be debated!

I'll be waiting on the game, before I determine its awesomeness or not-awesomeness on each platform. Most of iD's games in the past several years have been mediocre at best, and they're not the first company to show some impressive screens that never see the light of retail.

That being said, I'm looking forward to a revolution, if this is gonna be one. I highly doubt that the PS3 and 360 versions will look much different, however, and I would wager that it'll be the PC version that's truly the revolutionary one.

I also have a pc so don't really care.

I am a loyal SONY fan and will always be.

I am also a PS1, PS2, PS3 and a PSP owner.

Keep those drivers updated,60 fps lock with quality details and 2XAA is a little too much for a cheap video card.

You could buy a 360 for 200$ and don`t care at all,but many will buy a video card like last year, when they payed 100-150$ for a good one.

Guess what they will do next year? You got it.

That is why many left Pc gaming...oh,and piracy too

They got this screenshot from their supercomputer lab :)

It's best that way, don't work yourself up over nonsense, it isn't worth it.

Btw, have you seen any of the newest footage for Rage? Not bad huh?

Quite the opposite of that, really.  The footage was amazing, it kind of reminds me of Killzone 2 footage with the brown instead of the gray, lol.

@CGI-Quality: Do you see what I mean? This guy has an agenda, and at the top of the list of things to do, it's to pass the PS3 off as a piece of third world crap.

You need to cut the damage control son.

@CGI-Quality: Do you see what I mean? This guy has an agenda, and at the top of the list of things to do, it's to pass the PS3 off as a piece of third world crap. Can you believe he really singled out R2, out of all 1st party/2nd party games, he chose Resistance 2 to prove a point.

You're the one who brought up second party games as being the way to do things. Seriously, it's just the PS3s limitations coming into play, as we knew they would in the long term. TBH it's insulting to Jon & Co. that you suggest he's developing the wrong way just because the PS3 version can't keep up. Your damage control is sickening.

Ultibankai said:

Oh and RAZ, it seems you misread. PS3 has frame rate problems, 360 has texture resolution problems. Do not try to spin his words to favor 360, when it plainly states in the (Full) interview what console has what problems. PS3 only has one problem, going by the interview, and is slower to catch up. 360 has texture resolution problems and is closest to the PC version at the moment.

I have a copy of the issue, unabridged here in front of me, they talk about the texture issues and also mention that these are further more compounded on PS3 because the blu-ray throughput is slower.

Ultibankai said:

Oh and to respond to your "veedeeeooohs" comment, condescending much? I've seen the videos, so if you had read my post just before yours, you would have noticed this.

So why did you ask why i was comparing screenshots when there's a cavalcade of moving media available?

Ultibankai said:

A multiplatform Killzone 2, that is what Rage is.

It's very interesting that a multi-platform game should look better then Killzone 2 and run at double the framerate, it's also interesting that the 360 version seems to be much better.

Ultibankai said:

I mean seriously, is it too much to ask to WAIT until the game releases to pass judgment on it.

Yet you immediately start preaching on the merits of Sonys first party "fixing" the games development. Disgusting. Trying to push that agenda is chilling to the core.

Ultibankai said:

When released, if the game really is all that beautiful, then we can decide which console runs it more efficiently. Fair enough RAZ? This is a mid-development build, lets not take it as the definitive versions of the game, OK?

You're in the bargaining stage of denile here. You're playing damage control because techs next big thing isn't as big on PS3.

I've obvserved that behavior from him since my arrival on the Chartz. It's quite sad when you think about it.

I've noted even worse behaviour around you, especially with regards to Heavy Rains technical downgrades.

Bud, give it a rest. Your agenda is very well documented. No need to pretend that you are some fair poster, all you've done since joining this site is downplay anything Sony or the PS3. Just stop while you're behind.

Besides, you're off topic anyway.

@ Raz..Once upon a time there was a thread and Heavy Rain was involved...I went on and on pointing out technical flaws in what we have seen from the in game vids...I even posted those vids along with my findings...CGI ended it by telling me that the things I said about Heavy Rain were my opinion not facts....

@Ultibankai....

When are people going to accept the fact, that No matter how good Killzone 2 looks..it will never reach 2mill unbundled...and even with Bundles...I don't see reaching 3 mill...Unless Sony bundles it with Every form of PS3 for the next 2 1/2 years....

While the game has sold decently...It's just another generic FPS game from Sony...Much Like Ressistance...No one cares about killZone2 now...And it's only been out a few months...When CoD 6 hits...It will vanish completly...Rainbow Six Vegas is no where near KillZone 2 in graphics...And It's made more of an Impact this gen...

Graphics Will not save KillZone 2....
