Okay, NOW fuck you, Sega!

AGREED! All we need is another publisher to bring this game over to the states and have english subs. I don't even care about voices. hell, even if sega patched the japanese version to have english subs i'd import this AND yakuza 4.

Oh crap... I don't own a PS3 yet, but Yakuza 3 was one of my most anticipated games....

Yakuza 2 was released in NA two years after all three next gen consoles had come out and it was released with no English voice acting (merely subtitles) and no marketing whatsoever. What kind of sales were they expecting for the title?

The only reason Yakuza 3 won't sell is because of how badly they handled the past Yakuza games stateside.

Really? That's just pathetic. Can't believe they'd screw up that badly on a game like this. And I'm pretty sure a game like Yakuza can sell pretty well in the West.

It finally came out September 08 or so.

If they had localized the games in a timely manner (even the first only hit in late 06 or something like that) and marketed them as a Japanese GTA or something like that, they totally could've sold a few hundred thousand per game at least.

"my friend who works at Sega said so" .. yea ..

BTW wasn't this the site that said Uncharted 2 would have mandatory installs ?

Still, there is a good chance RGG 3 will never reach western shores, although I think this story has little credibility.

Isn't Yakuza basically a Japanese GTA anyway?

It's not as open world, but it's similar.

Why would they not release it here? Plenty of games have had poor sales and were released here.

Not to worry folks...Sega is making Ironman 2 as we speak.

They gave us VC...so they're allowed to stay :)

I think it's way better described as a JRPG with a Beat'emUp battle system. The reason why it often is associated with GTA is really just for it's setting as an underworld game, for objectively speaking that's already were the similarities stop (apart from the inclusion of several mini-games).
