there is something worse than slow?

man it cannot run well on 1gb DDR2 667mhz machine with a core 2 duo 1.73ghz

open a browser , word, wlm and you find one of them under a white screen that u can do anything not responding

A. Yes, there is something worse than slow. It's called suck. Missing features suck. You can fix "slow." You can't fix suck.

B. Speaking of slow, your computer is a netbook, or a very slow laptop. You can fix it by buying a new one. Thus, your slow problem will be fixed. However, without a modern OS, your PC will always suck. It will be good for running apps and games from 4 years ago. However, it won't do well if you plan on using it for things besides MS Word and surfing the net.

In other words, with a good computer(400 dollars will do it), Vista isn't "slow" and truthfully, even when gaming, you wouldn't be able to tell a difference in speed.

However, your games would look worse without Vista, and possibly not run at all.

Look, I'm not here to defend Vista. Honestly, it is a little convoluted for most casual users. However, entheusiasts and builders shouldn't still be using XP. You lose a lot of stuff and get no percievable benefit.

its a core 2 duo dude. 14'1 HP pavilion DV 2000 vista it' just a memory hog.

i use to program at my university.

and you can fix missing features. actually windows is missing features, like multiple desktops,  advance package manager , and icon, skin customization linux have.

so that means vista sucks?

Vista is terrible. That's all you need to know. It only has 1 really good function... The button where you can jump through all the windows and to the desktop

Check out my game about moles ^

I recently switched to Vista from XP and I'm loving it. It starts really fast, it's pretty, I love the search function, plus it's faster overall.

Vista is the best Windows I have ever used. Faster than XP, never crashes (assuming decent drivers).

Your mileage may vary.

honestly I've been having issues with my new PC with Windows 7. Downloads are slow. I think I solved the BSOD issues though adjusting the DRAM voltages.

Oh, how long have you had it?

What are the specs of your PC?

I see, would it be best to wait until Windows 7 comes out to get a new PC?
Or I could just get an XP one but I'd like to have something a little more up to date since I will have it for a long time.

If you buy a PC with Vista now you get a free upgrade to 7 when it launches.

That's cool. Got a link?

And Vista isn't bad. Just don't expect much of a difference from XP.

Every PC from now on should have a sticker (my laptop does)...I'll try to find some links.
