I thanks SEGA for many great games.""

==> Actually, this is Sony that killed Sega ...

actually both are wrong... , Sega killed itself by itself

they released a console, and then it was filled with piracy , they never try to solve this, then they released another in a very short time, that made people and publishers alot angry.

they have a long history of stupid things they did with their consoles

see here

i love Sega though but i got to admit they did really really stupid moves when they had their consoles, thats the main reason they are out.

Edit: as of now they really learned about their past mistakes and it really shows (well not in Sonic but other games) , and it would be fine for them to start a new console from scratch that would be freaking sweet.

I like that article. Imo Sega and Sony have  a lot in common when it comes to screwing up.

First time i've heard anyone call Monkey Ball a hardcore franchise.

OT: Well Sega has been giving great games to
all platforms this generation.

Monkey ball is a challenging game... very very challenging atleast the one i played.

I played the gamecube titles for a bit. They're were fun party games, but I've just never heard them given that title.

I refer to Monkey Ball as a hardcore franchise because it certainly wasn't casual. Its an established brand played by hardcore gamers. It was most successful on GameCube compared to X-Box and PS2. It was played mainly by hardcore Nintendo fans not the casual audience found on PS2.The franchise itself was successful where others (Marble Madness and modern Kororinpa) failed, Sega etched out a niche market with the marble genre or what ever you think it should be called (Puzzle game maybe).

Being one of Sega's core franchises I think it deserves to be designated hardcore.
