Forums - PC - Resident Evil 5 System Requirements Revealed

Yeah, I have an E6750 (not overclocked) and an 8800GT and it ran very well. You certainly don't need SLI'd 275's like they used for the review.

Yeah runs great on a 9600 with a middling CPU at 1280x900.

Toms Hardware did some tests with the benchmark tool and the results look nice.

But I believe that not having it in favor of crosshairs is more funish :P

Meh not for me. Crosshairs are standard, lasers are the future !!!

So I needed to get some wires for a family memeber's iPod so I decided to go to monoprice (since I'm not going to get a $25 iPod usb sync cable...). Since everything was so cheap I decided to pick up some extra USB extensions and a DVI-HDMI adapter for myself and now I am currently typing this post on the HDTV.

After running the RE5 benchmark at 1920x1080, 8x AA, v-sync off, frame rate lock off, and the rest of the settings on high, I have some results. Both fixed and variable tests scored a B ranking. The fixed test averaged out at 33.8 FPS. It stayed around there and didn't move around that much. In the variable test, the cutscene was the worst performing aspect in that it had a couple of dips to the 25-28 FPS range. Otherwise, all the gameplay segments of the variable test ran over 30 FPS (except for a moment at the bridge part) and the variable test as a whole averaged out at 34.4 FPS.

Not bad for an 8800gt 512mb and overclocked e2160.
