It's really not what I was thinking

The floodgates open and all hell breaks loose, with copious amounts of spamming going on, nonsensical threads being created, lots of angry messages being delivered, unfounded poll and predictions league alterations, and a boatload of system-biased user reviews.

The mod team is not big enough to sustain such anarchy, so temporarily, frequent contributors and such that are normally deemed unworthy will receive temporary mod powers to stop the influx. If July 9th is anywhere near E3 week, the other site leaders will have too much news to deal with to handle these heathens.

In a strange twist, the members who receive temporary powers ban the moderators. Even worse is the fact that 25% of these mutinous contributors are just alternate accounts. 3-days of constant banning will occur, and while the site falls into disarray and bandwith error, the community will crumble, along with the site's domain. But when the final dust settles and the smoke clears, one clever user will reign supreme.
