Forums - Sony - Sony Sign Bungie As Second Party?

EA and Acti will go at it neck n' neck until someone comes out on top. EA needs a Call of Duty killer, maybe they should have Bungie work on the next MOH game or start a whole new FPS IP.

Bungie is looking for a publisher, and Sony is the only company who can afford that right now (believe it or not). So in your opinion do you think Sony should sign Bungie? Or not?

Tell me what you guys think.

DISCUSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS

I need an explanation for this.... I'm confused...

The company I think would be more interested would be Activision...

Lol at topic. Why do this to yourself, TC? I know I've been gone for a while, but is posting a topic with false information still credible on this site?

How the hell are Sony the only ones who can afford Bungie; why leave out Microsoft (who has an extremely close relationship with Bungie and *still* has ongoing megaton projects for the X360, like Halo Waypoint for the dashboard and Reach, and w e all know how MS can be; they'll try hard to nab Bungie if they really cared to no matter what), or especially EA/Activision? Just to name a few..

This post sums it up nicely from another site:

"My thoughts are based on the “comfortable” relationship that “first parties” often enjoy with console makers. The tanking of the world economy seemed to really strain their announcement of wanting to break ties with MS. The R&D for consoles foreign to a “native” developer is costly and this fact seemed to result in making 2 more MS products; Halo Wars and ODST. I guess the timing was bad. I can’t avoid viewing this situation in a similar way to how I view an ex-girlfriend or boyfriend who contacts you after dumping you mostly because she/he realizes the grass is in fact NOT greener on the other side of the fence. Exorbitant costs for developing for the PS3 and the near nonexistent attach rate for the WII (and the “smaller than” attach rate of the PS3) make their decision dubious at best. I hope they are as good as their word, because if they make another 360 exclusive, they run risk of cleaning egg off their collective faces."

Umm I guess u werent here when they spilit on bad terms....plus it looks like MS has moved on ( with the halo-focused 343 industries.).

Bungie will end up as second party for Sega. By the time Bungie has finished their last projects for Microsoft Sega will announce their next-gen console with Bungie developing exclusive for it.

How about ms!!!??

this is one dumb thread
