Forums - PC - I've tried everything to run Sonic CD on my PC (actual software from 1998)

I've had Sonic CD for A LONG time and I was only able to play it on the old Windows 98 desktop I used to have in my bedroom many years ago. After I got my first laptop, my parents got rid of the desktop to make more room in my bedroom, but Sonic CD wouldn't run on Windows XP (which my first laptop had; Windows Media Center Edition 2005). Then my second laptop (had Vista, then my third laptop, which replaced my destroyed 2nd laptop from a carwreck; third laptop had manufacturing problems so I had to get a fourth laptop; all of them ran Vista) couldn't run it because Sonic CD required some 'archaic' files (.dll) in order to run it. I've searched on the web for patches to fix this, but none of them have worked. The one that was widely used to run Sonic CD (I forget what it's called) actually made the game run through the title screen, then the game crashed...

Is there anyway I could ever play Sonic CD again? I know there are ROMs possibly for it, and I've looked at GameStop for that Sonic Gems whatever game for the GCN that had it, but couldn't find it. Sonic CD is my favorite of the Sonic games I've played...

That's what I've tried before, but it crashes several seconds after the title screen runs

Can you make it run on DOS? I assume you could use the DOSbox to make it run again.

Random game thought :
Why is Bionic Commando Rearmed 2 getting so much hate? We finally get a real game and they're not even satisfied... I'm starting to hate the gaming community so f****** much...

How about you get an SCD ROM and run it though an SCD emu?
