To anyone saying "stick to brainless action movies"....

Fuck off. Watchmen isnt some sort of super complex deep story. The director did a horrible job in conveying the story properly, and made one of the most boring movies ever.

Maybe not Super, but complex and deep, yeap... Like many people said, this is not the tipical super hero movie, and probably you failed to notice that.

@reasonable Perhaps what they could have done was split the movie into 2 separate movies. I think that they could have gotten away with more character development by doing so.

Where would they cut the story in half though in a way to attract people to see the second and without making the first film feel unfinished?

I kind of agree. The problem was that it was just too long and choppy. I mean, the first hour, hour and a half, just felt like a big clipshow. I just felt like it had no development of ideas or that it was leading anywhere. By the time we got to Antarctica I was just wishing it would end already.

There were some very entertaining scenes though. That opening sequence was probably my favourite part of the movie, to be honest. The prison scene and the sequences in Antarctica were good. I didn't think there was too much sex or "blue dong" or anything. Had some good acting too. I like the style, I wanted to like the movie, but just couldn't get into it.

I will probably never watch it again, and will not be recommending it.

EXPLAIN how it was so complex and deep.

Oh wow! They are not typical superheroes therefore it is deep and complex!

ehhhhh i disagree but hey, opinions are like assholes, everybody's got one. Sorry you didn't like the movie. If you're willing to give it a second chance somewhere down the line I'd recommend you check out the graphic novel first and then rewatch the movie. Personally I loved it but it's not for everyone. *shruggs* Also, if you do check out the graphic novel, I think you'd appreciate all the movie does in the three hours of the director's cut.

Hope the next movie you watch is a better experience for you.

It says that to give you an idea what happens in the beginning, if you didn't notice they weren't talking about him for a good 3/4ths of the movie then it's your own fault for relying on the back of a DVD to formulate your own opinion.

Edit: Also, The death of the comedian is what leads to the speculation that heroes are being killed. Even the commercial manages to convey that message.

LOL Who watches DVDs these days? I dont watch that blurry shit

You try arguing with me but then in your Edit, you agree with me. LOL.... umm ok there

Don't tell people to fuck off for expressing their opinons and then tell people not to criticize your opinons.

Also--

  • If you want nudity, you have the internet.  If you're watching a movie for nudity, don't watch a super hero movie.
  • It isn't the movies fault you didn't get it.

Frankly, I loved the movie, but then again I don't mind sitting 3 hours for a good movies, followed the story quite well (and I still haven't read the novel), and loved the characters and how they are heroes but kind of despicable people for the most part.

And we can argue opinions all day but in the end, since you seem to favor reviews so much, perhaps this will teach you to read reviews before you watch a movie.

okay now i'm more interested in what this dude got b7 for.
