Forums - Sales - America Up

(A) Its from from the long-period growth perspective ("change in profit potential") that people say the Wii and PS3 are "doing badly", and the X360 is "doing well".
(B) Its from the marketshare, and hence eventual software marketshare (that's the implication anyway), perspective ("current profit potential") that the Wii is "doing well" and the PS3 and X360 are "doing poorly".
(C) Its from the raw customer revenue perspective ("consumer desirability") that the Wii is "doing well" and the PS3 and X360 are about in the same boat. In other words, customers appear to desire X360s and PS3s about the same, given their respective price points, whereas they desire a Wii moreso, from the price/value perspective.

(C) indicates future (A) trends, which, in turn, indicates (B) trends.

Things like pricecuts will affect (C) first, and then they will filter into the other perspectives over time.

So... everyone is in agreement, and you can all lay down the fanboy defense weapons. ;)

@ FayeC

He said that X360 is doing solid, while Wii is doing terrible (yeah, not good, bad, TERRIBLE) when the wii is selling more than the X360. That my friend, no offense, is plain stupid.

If wii > X360, i would expect that wii is going better than X360. But apparently no, Wii > X360 = terrible for the wii. Oh well... to each his own

Once again. He isnt comparing them to each other, he is comparing each console to itself.

WOW people really expecting a PS3 price cut sales really slow.

It doesn't mean at all 360 is doing good, it just means they cut the price last september to being basically free.

If anything, PS3 does better than 360 considering its price.

Free to the consumer?

Free but still making a profit as opposed to expensive and taking a hit

360 is getting pretty close to the wii. Interesting to see what happens.

This.

Everyone needs to play Lost Odyssey! Any opposition to this and I will have to just say, "If it's a fight you want, you got it!"

Yeah, the numbers speak for themselves montana.

Just take a look at WW numbers, what do you see.

Let me tell you what I see

DS - Amazing
Wii - Good
X360 - Bad
Psp - Bad
PS3- Bad

I don't see percentages drops, b/c they don't even matter. You don't have the same economy, the same games released, bundles, or anything that can fluctuate the change in percentage drastically. I just look at WW numbers everyweek to give my opinion. That's all

I edited it for you.

Not surprising. All the rumour talk of the PS3 slim/price cut, economy still in the shitter, Wii lacks some REAL software, 360 doing decently but could do a lot better.... Will be interesting to see how things shape up in the coming weeks/months before the holidays. :)

Not gonna lie, I'm waiting for a remodel of the PS3 and a $100 price cut to get one, since Sony always does remodels.

X360 Good

Wait, I thought we were talking about America here? This is the thread about America numbers, after all. Oh well, I suppose it's fine for you to spin what numbers we're talking about to fit your argument.

Worldwide Year over Year:

Wii down 190k

360 down 34k

PS3 down 61k

DS down 120k

PSP down 135k

Argue all you want, but none of the consoles are doing that great if they're all seeing massive decreases year over year. You could argue that the economy is hurting them, but that wouldn't cause a nearly 200k drop in Wii sales.

Point? 360's the only one that's really doing that well. And your point sucks. Sorry, no spin there. It sucks.
