Forums - General - N.Korea testing (N?)BC weapons on childeren

If only that coward bastard Kim would allow visitors into the country that way some country could just send in somebody in disguise and assasinate him solid snake style, however realistic that may be.

Unfortunately the North Korean government is beyond reasoning with. Their entire political culture flows from the barrel of a gun. They act like hoodlums and they think like them. That is what their weapons of mass destruction are all about. They intend to hold the world hostage. Once they have a fully functioning nuclear weapon, and a delivery system. They will present the world or their neighbors with ultimatums. Once that happens either you capitulate to their demands, and give them everything they ask for, or you act militarily.

About the only hope I see for this situation not resulting in a nuclear wasteland is for a revolution from within the government itself. However I am hardly hopeful of that outcome. How many in the government have the courage to act and the resources.

north korea should be bombed off the map though. bombed into submission until it can be unified under the south korean government.

So, we kill tons of innocent civilians, and Kim Jong runs away like the rat he is. None of the people who deserve to be killed are killed. Bombing the hell out of a country never works. And do you really think South Korea wants anything to do with North Korea in its current state?

Yep, because that strategy worked so well in solving all of Iraqs problems.

comparing north korea to iraq shows only off your limited capacity for rational thinking.

@montana

north korea has lots of military targets...civilian collateral should be minimal.
the civilians are already submissive. feed them, and it should be fine.
and yes...south korea wants everything to do with their fellow koreans held hostage by the north korean military.

It worked for Clinton.

3 times...

The wars where we do nothing but bomb people with are superior air power actually work quite well.

I was not proposing to bomb Korea by the way. I'd say make it a three-point strike -

send in special forces to take out most of the anti-air coverage
drop food for the civilians in the city's, notes attached - get the fuck out
bomb militairy operations

All of course before Kim has a fully functional nuclear warhead and he can retaliate.

And highway, I thought about the possibility of this being fake. I can fully understand that this commander will do everything to rally the world against the country he fled but, reports have been coming in from various refugees over the last decades. It's in the bottom of the article I linked to, but didn't include it here to keep the message short. Though this is a first account of children being used, it is well known that these tests have been conducted on (political) prisoners and that is bad enough on its own.

You don't think the people of North Korea wouldn't be leaving now if they could?

They just can't get out.

I dunno. There was that one time we tried to bomb al-Qaeda and blew up a pharmaceutical. There was also the Yugoslavia bombings, but those were a joint effort with NATO. And the Iraqi bombings, well...all I can say about that is that we bombed the hell out of them, and it took a lot less motivation than North Korea is giving.
