That's becouse userbase is myth that cannot be estimated only on number of consoles sold.

And the more niche genre/game the less it matters.

 

Looking for example on jRPG:

best selling jrpg on ps3 is nowhere near 3 times more copies than best x360 jrpg

similarly if we take dragon quest spinoff on wii it's nowhere near outselling wkc 2,5 times and definitly nowhere near 8 times more sales than x360 jrpgs

So the hardcore jrpg fanbase could be for example 800k on wii, 600k on ps3, 500k on x360 due to past releases then any jrpg will strugle to break those numbers unless it has big universal appeal and well known name like Pokemon, FF XIII, DQ X

 

If you think about Wii which has broadest appeal and most diversed player base it means it will have similar sales in smaller niche games than platforms with less people.


We'll see about that once MH3, SRW Neo, Tales of Graces, FFCC: TCB, Samurai Warriors 3, and the eventual DQ X (I'm sure screens/trailers alone will cause a big buzz) launch. Right now most of the Wii's JP fanbase is kinda casual but that'll change soon.

Anyway, lol at the sales. Good thing MH3 releases in a week...

Wow, that list seems to get smaller every time I see it.

Stop trying to make the Wii into the PS3. It's embarrassing to the console.

Didn't that list have Arc Rise Fantasia and a bunch of other games at some point? All I'm saying is that you're falling into the same trap that PS3 fanboys fell into, and it's freakin' goofy.
