isn't Gt5 doing rally racing?

Are you serious?????

That isn't rallying. GT5 is probably 3 dirt tracks at most, WRC cars that race on those Dirt tracks. Las t time I checked WRC consisted of traveling the world visiting different countries doing numerous stages, having to fix as you go. GT5 hs NOT got rally. IT has the rally liscense used for a few races on some dirt. thats it. Same as the Nascar. 16 cars max ( not 40 + like Nascar ) and only a few ovals. But no championship or particualr license rules.

i m sorry but have you played GT5?Casue i haven't and that's why i asked.

beside GT fans will get it all instead of paying for 3-4 different games ;)

I would hope they'd put more effort into the rally mode this time around now that they have the offical license.

Spartan is trolling, though...

Yes. I didn't bring GT5 in this thread. Spartan did. And for the record, I have never once viewed WRC or Nascar in GT5 as a game with a 3 in 1 package. If it really was a 3 in 1 package, we would be getting essentially a Dirt type game, a Nascar 2010 type game and a GT4 type game all in GT5. 15 years of dev anyone?

You know it Spartan and I know it. GT5 will have the odd rally track in it's career progression. Every now and then you will race one of the WRC cars you own on a dirt track. Same with Nascar. There will not be a career mode for WRC nor a Championship with al the world courses for the rally. We know theres around 100 tracks in GT5 not 300.

lol, someone actually mentioned GT5 rally mode? it won't be as good as Dirt 2. those races in GT5 will be basically normal races on offroad tracks - that's not a rally. Dirt 2 is a must for every offraod racing fans while rally races in GT5 will be an addition. it's like saying that WWe vs Smackdown is as good as UFC 2009 Undisputed - fake fighting will never be as good as real one.

Race Pro + Forza Motorsport 3 + Dirt 2 is the best combo for racing fans.

Actually, I find this combo the best for racing fans;

Race Pro + Forza 3 + Dirt 2 + Gran Turismo 5 + NFS Shift. Or are you claiming that racing fans all over the world are better off just owning one console and not two or more (and possibly a PC)?

Nice so that's how it will look on my pc? :)

How does my OP even remotely concern GT5. Noone in their right mind considers GT5 even remotely a WRC game or Nascar game. For a start you have to have a full championship of both those franchises with the actual rules for both series and ALL the tracks etc that go with those series. So NO I was referring to any rally game that comes along. Including Rallisport Challenge by M$.

I was praising Dirt 2 against actual rallying games that will come along. Not a few token tracks in GT5 that are dirt races. LOL.

Gotta agree with Selnor on the point about GT's Rally. I never seen it as a WRC game. I always thought of it as a Sega Rally type of game. PD with the Official WRC i would hope do something good with it other then have offical WRC cars and Sega rally tracks. I want the tracks from CMR or WRC games where on some stages if your tail gets a bit wide .. WHAM it clips a tree and you go flipping down the dirt road or smashing into some trees. ... ah fun times.

when Gran Turismo 5 will come out then we can talk, but so far if you're a racing fan and want to play racing games on a console you have only one option - 360. Shift looks to me like Grid ripoff and while i really wanted to get this game at the beginning now i doubt that i will. i still have Grid that i didn't even played yet despite the fact that i have it(didn't have the time and it was only 10$ new) and then i will have Dirt 2 and Forza 3. i might pick it up when it will be cheap but, i doubt i will get tired of all racing games i already have(need to pick up Race Pro before though if i find one for 20$). i might pick Shift for psp if it will be very good so i will have some other racing game besides Gran Turism and Ridge Racer 2 because, besides rpgs and fighting games i play only racing games on psp and i sold last week few of my ps2/psp/wii games i already finished(both Burnouts, F1 2005 and ATV Offroad Fury Pro) - especially that i have to stop buying so many games. i plan to sell ps2 and probably wii when i finish all the games i have - i don't have that much time anymore for all my consoles and i would rather spent my money on something else then buying more games. my ps2 and wii would give me a lot of $$$ for my gaming budget for the next 2-3 years.

to me Race Pro, Forza 3 and Dirt 2 is the best combo for racing fans who own a console.

Dirt 2 for all offroad racing,

Race Pro for european style stock car racing and really hardcore pc type racing simulation,

Forza 3 for online and as a big racing game,
