Hey guys, just a quick question. Has anyone played either Baroque or Final Fantasy Fables: Chocobo's Dungeon for Wii? Are those games any good? I'm planning on buying both, so any feedback would be greatly appreciated .

I heard Baroque was pretty bad all-around. The game actually originated on the Sega Saturn. Try watching some videos for both games to see if you like them irregardless.

Yeah, Baroque sounds bad...

baroque is not bad, just cruel, you lose eveything when you die, but you gain more backstory if thas enough to compensate.

that's why rogue-like games/dungeon crawlers are great. it's not even as cruel as Shiren The Wanderer on the wii.

dunno if DS games are as hard, but if you can put up with japanese version then get this game ASAP - best dungeon crawler this gen. fucking hard and long.

minus is that there is no such thing as saving and loading in the game. you die and you have start from the beginning. it's turnbased game. if you like those kind of games it will definitely give you a lot of gameplay for your money i spended almost 200hours in the game(died 3 times so far) and while i'm not playing it now i like to have fun for hour or two once in a while.

FF: Chocobo's dungeon is really really good if you're into rogue likes, and don't mind the cutesy art style.

Baroque I would pass on unless you're getting it super frikkin cheap. It's not just that's it's cruel (though it is hard and you lose everything including your levels when you die), it's that the control sucks, the camera sucks, the systems implemented are sub par. It's got a neat art style and idea, but it's so poorly executed it's hard to recomend it at all.

Thanks for your feedback. I don't mind cutesy art style games, i even bought opoona (one of the most underrated wii games). I like cruel, hard games, is baroque worth $9.99?

I love Opoona too. simplistic, but relaxing.

Eh, if you're not going to spend that 10 bucks on something else that you want, and you don't mind hard, rather mundane rogue likes, then I guess baroque could be worth it. But if there is anything else you want that you can get for 10 dollars, take that over Baroque.

Shiren is the one that interests me. Dont know when it arrives over here.

Any game that is even remotely your genre should be worth 9.99 USD.
