Forums - Sony - Another PSP rebuyer, RPGs?

I had a PSP 1000 at launch, then sold it a year later.

Well now after comparing the PSP2000, 3000, and PSPGo, I've decided to purchase a PSP2000 (for the far superior screen to the 3000, and bigger size than the PSPGo and pricepoint).

Now I tried to look back quite a bit to find some1 asking this same question but couldn't find anything, so I'll be that annoying guy and bring it up again. What RPGs can I buy for the PSP system? I basically love all types, long as the story and art work is good. I already bought Monster Hunter Freedom Unite, NEVER played anything in the series but only read amazing things about it. Also getting Final Fantasy Tactics, that's a no brainer. What else is there? I'm so out of the RPG loop as all I own in console is a recently purchased PS3 (about 4 months ago).

List me some RPGs, I'm open to JRPG, SRPG, Adventure RPG, etc etc!

The Halo francise is the most overrated bland game to ever hit the console market. It provides a bad name to all FPS that even showed effort at creating an original entertaining plot.

I probably have more ps3 games than you :/

lol far superior screen to the 3000? Who told you that? Are you talking about the scan lines? The ones that can be optionally taken off..

You do know the PSP 3000 has two screen options, and its screen is VASTLY superior to the 2000, I would know since i own a 2000 and a 3000. Not to mention the 3000 has a mic..

Also Im not really into UMD rpg games so I can only tell you the ones I have, make sure you get a bundle that brings atleast a 4GB memory stick, and if you cant get a bundle get a 8GB memory stick. The buy a PSN card, and buy FF VII of the psn store so you can have an amazing rpg on your PSP, along with other various RPG's available on the PSN store. Get Crisis core FF VII, Loco Roco 2, Monster Hunter freedom Unite, and Rockband unplugged. Great IP.

What is the benefit of downloading it from psn store instead of buying the UMD?

You can carry 10-15 games with you all in your pocket.  You can't carry that many UMDs.  Also extends battery life and faster loading times.  You can place them on more than one PSP so if your brother/sister wants it they can have a copy.  If you lose your PSP and games you can always download them again free.

well got my PSP.

I have LocoRoco 2, Patapon 1, Crisis Core, and Monster Hunter Freedom Unite. NEED MORE RPGS

Take a look at my profile. I'm still missing some but it has some good RPGs in there.

I'd take a hard look at Phantasy Star Portable, Legend of Heroes series, and Jeanne d'arc.

And snuggle the girls be they short or tall,
Then follow young Mat whenever he calls,
To dance with Jak o' the Shadows."

Out of games that weren't mentioned:

Jeanne D'Arc, Phantasy Star Portable, Class of Heroes, Crimson Gem Saga, Wild Arms XF.

There's a LOT more if you speak Japanese.
