Forums - Gaming - Opinion: More Female Representation is Needed in Video Games

We have more than enough female representation in JRPGs, but they're all named after men and pretend they're men.

Around the Network

Lightning is a goddess so she counts for at least 400 women.

Any JRPG.
Tomb Raider
Princess Peach?
Any of the "imagine" games?
Heavenly Sword woman... i dont know how to spell her name
Jill Valentine, Ada Wong.
Mirrors Edge, Golden Axe.
Any game what lets you create your character... as a woman.
Left 4 Dead.

Theres loads if you REALLY think about it.

It does become quite the sausage fest after watching playing as a man over and over. 20 out of 737 is a larger difference than I thought. Hopefully FFXIII will give lead girls a second wind

when i play a game i don't mind if the protagonist is a man.. i'm playing for the experience :D the fact that the main characters are males doesn't really make me any less likely to play a game.. sometimes, it even seems that a lot of girl-protagonist games are AIMED at girls.. and tend to not be as good/difficult/whatever as other games.

anyway, i don't think it matters what gender the characters are :D
