I only had a PS2 last gen so I had to get a PS3 this gen. I never had an Xbox due to lack of money back then but I did borrow my brother's Xbox a few times and became a huge Halo fan. So I chose the 360 as well this gen, since money isn't a problem anymore.

I pre-ordered Twilight Princess for gamecube, but when I bought it over a year later I had them give me the Wii version.

I didn't even bother to start looking for a Wii for about 2 months after that, so the last gen directly influenced my purchase.

PS1/PS2 vast selection of JRPGs convince me to buy a PS3. Stupid me right.

No, sad thing is I actually missed out on the Dreamcast when it was new :( It was so poorly marketed in my country that I didn't even know it existed.

Morrowind, Fable, Kotor from original Xbox

The ps2 influenced me....and the ps1 influenced me to get the ps2. Mostly because of the great sequels that are coming out and 2 of my favorites which are; Shadow of the Colossus and God Of War.

you know what system Halo, Mario, GT, FF will be on.

But for me its more of a clean slate and I've never regretted getting both the 360 and PS3.
