Is it gonna be an animated movie, or with live actors but lots of costumes and special effects like in Lord of the Rings?

from what I have heard it is going to be more like lord of the rings.  Live action with special effects and what not.

And what about budget? Have u seen any rumoured number on budget?

I think the Prince of Persia movie was gonna get well over a $100 million budget.

blizzard said it would be at least 100 million when they announced it, so it should be pretty well done.

Seeing as how blizzard is involved in the production, is co-funding it and will have one of its staff as co-producer, we can expect this movie to arrive roughly in 2020 in time for the release of warcraft 4 (which will be delayed until the year after anyways). xD

I don't like Blizzard games very much (I liked the first Warcraft) but this movie is going to be great.

I also hope they will make movies about Assassin's Creed some day (since Ubisoft does it with Prince of Persia it will probably happen with AC too) and Bethesda have said that they'd like to see the Elder Scrolls world make way into 'other forms of media' (=movie) in the future.

What else is there planned - great games to movies? Uncharted, Gears of War... God of War? Are these confirmed?

I hope Wolfenstin too, and Dante's Inferno. ^^

It better be 100% pure CG otherwise I'm NOT watching it, there are certain things live-action can not do well, and this is one of them, all the beautiful art style and character design will be lost.

I say, fuck live action bullshit, and make it CG through and through.

If the movie is well done, it will deliver a massive first week Worldwide total, since WoW fans are international, and would flock to see the film. $100 million would be a solid starting budget, but it's going to cost $125-$150 million for a film to be done correctly...even with bluescreen tech, say like 300.

Box office gross revenue from gamers alone would be at least 12 million WoW players x $8 = $96 million. ^^
(average ticket price only $8 cause of the many Chinese Wow players bringing it down)
